Project overview

The Drut HomeGuard App was launched on 6 December 2023—Home Guards Raising Day—by the Uttarakhand Home Guard Department, becoming the first such emergency-response app in India.

Designed to offer swift, community-driven support during crises, the app empowers citizens across Uttarakhand to request immediate assistance from nearby Home Guards.

With a single tap of the panic button, the user’s location is instantly notified to multiple Home Guards, who can then coordinate and respond quickly. This initiative enhances citizen safety, builds trust in emergency response, and enables timely first aid, rescue, and support during disasters, medical emergencies, or threats like stalking.
